The 100 Day Project - Share and Bloom - Day 2

Illustration of 3 crocus flowers. Above it in electronic hand writing ‘Every year flowers appear I didn’t plant’ and underneath the flowers ‘just like my life’. All on a blue and peach coloured background.

Project:  The100DayProject.org - 100 days of Share and Bloom - Day 1

ILLUSTRATOR SAYS:

The aim of my project: to provide a comfort blanket for my soul and the soul of others.

Day 2 image: Amazing things always happen in my life I couldn’t dream up if I tried. I saw crocuses in my garden starting to appear today that I didn’t plant and weren’t there before. My garden is like the gift that keeps on giving. Just like life, if I look.

Today’s creative learnings:

  • I don’t need to be perfect

  • Foremostly drawing and expressing my thoughts and feelings is great for my own wellbeing. It is a comfort blanket for my own soul before anyone else’s. And as good a reason to do this as any. If this comfort extends to anyone else, it will make what I do here even more worthwhile. But what other people think isn’t important in the sense that I won’t let any fear over that hold me back now.

Background to The 100 Day Project:

This is a project led by Lindsay Jean Thomson who is a writer and co-founder of Women Catalysts. In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a bizarre yet life-affirming experience she chronicled for VICE.

I’d love to get your support and encouragement over the next few months if you’d like to comment and share.

Hope anything I create gives you a little bit of comfort for your soul.
