The 100 Day Project - Share and Bloom - Day 1
Project: The100DayProject.org - 100 days of Share and Bloom - Day 1
Illustrator: Jenny
ILLUSTRATOR SAYS:
The aim of my project: to provide a comfort blanket for my soul and the soul of others.
Day 1 image: I’m realising more and more I have choices. I can choose to let my shadow run the day or I can choose to look for things that bring me joy. The more I look, the more I find. So today I commit to my choices.
Creative learnings:
I’m learning to ‘just do it’ and push through thoughts of self doubt. To choose to enjoy the process. Enjoy the journey.
I’ve learnt that Facebook wasn’t happy with me and didn’t share my posts from Instagram with friends on days 1 & 2. So when I share this day 1 from my website, people will see it on day 3. Lot to learn about algorithms!
I’ve learnt how to re-add Instagram to my site but still haven’t worked out yet how to get posts to ‘pull’ from Instagram even though I’ve got it set to pull in SquareSpace.
I’ve learnt a bit more about how to post on Instagram as I’m still a bit clunky in that department.
Wondering if I should change my Instagram username to include my personal name so that people know it’s me.
If I change the images around I lost the caption I’ve drafted below in SquareSpace so need to remember to copy it for when I add a different picture.
Background to The 100 Day Project:
This is a project led by Lindsay Jean Thomson who is a writer and co-founder of Women Catalysts. In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a bizarre yet life-affirming experience she chronicled for VICE.
I’d love to get your support and encouragement over the next few months if you’d like to comment and share.
Hope anything I create gives you a little bit of comfort for your soul.
