'Weird' fish
Cartoon: ‘Weird’ fish
Illustrator: Jenny
ILLUSTRATOR SAYS:
My dyslexia is mostly an advantage to me. It supports my creativity and wider perspective. But because I can see things differently I can sometimes come across as a bit weird because I don’t always put across or follow the status quo. I yearn to fit in but never really do. I’m getting better at celebrating and accepting my uniqueness. We all have something to offer and bring to the table. It’s just sometimes I’d rather be sitting at a different table.
My ‘weird fish’ life can be lonely but leads me to exciting, unexpected and far off realms I could never dream up in a million years. I’ve had a wonderful life as a weird fish. May the adventure into the unknown continue.
One day other fish may follow.
OUTTAKES
Simplicity is the name of the game for Share and Bloom but there was this other image (below) I was considering as the main image. We never have to go it alone and there will often be others that are different that don’t want to follow the status quo and will join in the adventure. And there will be those that want to follow their own path but feel the pinch of peer pressure and follow the crowd in order to fit in, losing themselves in the process. Life can be a funny ol’ fish.
