ILLUSTRATOR SAYS:
The aim of my project: to provide a comfort blanket for my soul and the soul of others.
Day 7 image:
As they say ‘crap in, crap out’. With things being rather weird in the world, to look after my mental and physical wellbeing, I’m being careful what I put my attention to - what I watch, listen to, think about, do, speak about.
Without meaning to sound new age positive thinking, it’s had a huge impact on my mental health.
I wake up doing affirmations and mantras, read daily messages by Melodie Beattie, do some stretches and breathing exercises and have a cold shower. It kick starts my day and sets the scene for how the day goes.
I’ve realised it’s all a choice. What I turn my attention to.
Every day I choose.
I’m not perfect. But I do my best.
Background to The 100 Day Project:
This is a project led by Lindsay Jean Thomson who is a writer and co-founder of Women Catalysts. In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a bizarre yet life-affirming experience she chronicled for VICE.
I’d love to get your support and encouragement over the next few months if you’d like to comment and share.
Hope anything I create gives you a little bit of comfort for your soul.
