ILLUSTRATOR SAYS:

The aim of my project: to provide a comfort blanket for my soul and the soul of others.

Day 5 image: When there is change, for me there is often chaos before real clarity. Sitting on the fence, self doubt, lots of ‘mmmm’ before the ‘aha’ moments. The right decisions are always crystal clear for me. When I feel unsure or undecided, it is usually when there is something off about the option for me.

I’ve been through a few career changes and reviews over the years and I’m at another crossroads. What work to look for, what work to consider that comes my way. I can’t see what is round the corner and that scares me sometimes but I’m learning to feel at peace in uncertainty. I only have today so I may as well enjoy it and not haemorrhage energy in worry or fear.

Patience rewards with wisdom.

Answers will come.

And so will new questions.

Being at peace right now, that’s living the dream.

Today’s creative learnings:

• This 100 Day Project has really inspired me to share many other things I’ve been saving and holding onto. Things about wellbeing that is so close to my heart. So I’ve been planning and scheming today on other creative projects and wellbeing shares.

• I’m grateful to my friend Frances for recommending this project to me. It’s getting me drawing, writing and sharing and thinking less about what other people think, which is healthy progress.

Background to The 100 Day Project:

This is a project led by Lindsay Jean Thomson who is a writer and co-founder of Women Catalysts. In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a bizarre yet life-affirming experience she chronicled for VICE.
